Request for Auto Insurance records by Congress

Toyota recalled more than eight million cars which had been manufactured by them due to presence of some faulty parts in them. This was done after a complaint had been registered by State Farm at the National Highway Traffic Safety administration in 2007. They felt that there was something faulty in the vehicles being manufactured by Toyota. The auto insurance company also stayed abreast of all the developments in the case through the National Highway Traffic Safety administration. State Farm had noticed that a large number of cars manufactured by Toyota were meeting with accidents and felt something was fishy about the cars. No other insurance company was able to detect anything unusual. State Farm got into an investigation with many other insurance companies in order to find out if the accident was caused by the negligence of the driver or whether there was any major fault present in the vehicle parts.

Verification of auto insurance in Arizona

Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona has implemented a bill which will help in reducing the number of people driving on the road without the required auto insurance for their vehicles. Any person who has been caught more than three times on the road without the required auto insurance papers will have his driving license suspended. He will have to submit papers in court in order to prove his financial credibility before his driving license is returned to him.

Warning from State Farm about Toyota

In 2007, State Farm which is a private insurance company had informed the US Governmental authorities about a series of accidents which involved vehicles manufactured by Toyota Corporation. Kip Diggs, the company spokesperson had stated that a rising number of claims with regard to Toyota vehicles were being received and this lead them to suspect that there was something wrong with the vehicle. They reported this suspicion to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety administration). They felt that there was some other reason behind the occurrence of these accidents. State Farm is an insurance company based out of Illinois and they provide insurance facilities to a majority of the states in USA. Once State Farm had done its duty of informing the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety administration) in 2007, they continued to stay in touch with the Government authorities.

Disclosure of Safeco regarding auto insurance surcharge

In 2002, consumer watchdog had taken some stakes in the Safeco auto insurance company. Once this process had been completed, the company sued the Safeco insurance company for violating the insurance laws in the state of California.
